FORGED X makes an aluminium canopy for the Kia Tasman dual cab, built to the Tasman tub. The Tasman tub is wider than most dual cabs in its class, so no other canopy in the range fits it. It clamps on with no drilling and comes with solid sides or sliding dog windows.
Which FORGED X canopy fits your Tasman
| Canopy | Series | Years | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kia Tasman canopy | First generation | 2025 onwards | Built to the wider Tasman tub |
Why the Tasman needs its own canopy
The Tasman is Kia's first ute, launched in 2025, and its tub was designed from scratch. It is wider than most dual cabs in the class, so a canopy made for another ute will not fit.
The FORGED X Tasman canopy is built to the Tasman tub dimensions, so it sits flush on the factory rails.
Solid sides or dog windows on a Tasman
For a Tasman used for touring, the dog-window version gives kerbside access, airflow when camped and daylight inside the canopy.
For a Tasman used for work, solid sides keep tools out of sight and avoid side glass on site.
Both options have a glazed lift-up rear door on gas struts, marine-grade 5052 aluminium construction, seals and drainage around every opening for dust and corrugations, and a powder-coated matte black finish.
Weight, payload and roof load on the Tasman
A FORGED X dual cab canopy weighs from around 60 kg, depending on the vehicle and the side option. Everything you add counts towards your Tasman's GVM — the canopy, racks, drawers, water, fuel, passengers and gear — so add up the full setup and compare it with the payload on the compliance plate. Keeping the canopy light is what lets many owners stay within their factory GVM.
On the Tasman canopy, the roof takes 150 kg on the move and 300 kg when parked — bars and rack included. That covers a rooftop tent: keep tent and bars inside the dynamic rating when driving, and tent, bedding and people inside the static rating at camp.
Fitting a canopy to the Tasman
The Tasman canopy goes on with clamps to the factory tub rail, using the hardware supplied — no cutting, no drilling, and nothing permanent. If you sell the ute, the canopy comes off and the tub is as it was.
We fit canopies at 21 Moss Street, Slacks Creek, in Brisbane, or send them on pallet freight to any state for your own fitter. Seals, struts, glass and mounting hardware are kept on the shelf if you ever need a part.
Racks, tracks and locking
Full-length roof tracks are built into the Tasman canopy, so bars, platforms, awnings, recovery boards, solar and light bars bolt on without drilling. Yakima track-mount gear fits directly — no adaptor plates — and other common bolt-in systems fit the same track.
Add the optional central locking kit and one press of the factory key locks the canopy with the cab. It plugs into the existing wiring.
Tasman canopy questions
Will a canopy from another ute fit the Kia Tasman?
No. The Tasman tub is wider than most dual cabs and needs its own canopy.
Does the canopy fit every Tasman dual cab grade?
It is made for the Tasman dual cab tub. If accessories are fitted to the tub, tell us what they are and we will confirm before you order.
Can I put a rooftop tent on the Tasman canopy?
Yes. Keep the tent and bars within 150 kg while driving and within 300 kg static when parked.
Do you make a Tasman single cab or king cab canopy?
Yes, on request. The canopies listed in this guide are made for the dual cab tub, and single cab or king cab versions are made to order. Send us your Tasman's year, cab type and tub measurements and we will come back to you with a quote.
