Nissan Navara Canopy Guide: NP300, D23 Facelift and 2026-on

FORGED X makes aluminium canopies for three Nissan Navara dual cabs. The NP300 D23 (2015–2020) and the facelifted D23 (2021–2025) share a tub and take the same canopy. The new Navara from 2026 is built on the MV Triton platform and takes the MV-size canopy.

Which Navara do you have?

The NP300 D23 dual cab was sold from 2015 to 2020. The 2021 facelift brought a new grille and front end, but the tub stayed the same, so the facelifted SL, ST, ST-X, PRO-4X and Warrior take the same canopy unit.

The 2026 Navara is a new generation built on the MV Triton. It has a different tub, so a D23 canopy will not fit it.

Solid sides or dog windows on a Navara

For a Navara SL or ST used for work, solid sides keep tools out of sight and avoid side glass on site.

For a PRO-4X or Warrior set up for touring, dog windows give kerbside access to the fridge and drawers and through-ventilation when camped.

Both options have a glazed lift-up rear door on gas struts, marine-grade 5052 aluminium construction, seals and drainage around every opening for dust and corrugations, and a powder-coated matte black finish.

Navara Warrior

The Warrior is built on the facelifted D23 and keeps the standard D23 tub, so it takes the D23 canopy without any extra hardware. If accessories have been fitted to the tub, tell us what they are before you order.

Weight, payload and roof load on the Navara

A FORGED X dual cab canopy weighs from around 60 kg, depending on the vehicle and the side option. Everything you add counts towards your Navara's GVM — the canopy, racks, drawers, water, fuel, passengers and gear — so add up the full setup and compare it with the payload on the compliance plate. Keeping the canopy light is what lets many owners stay within their factory GVM.

On the Navara canopy, the roof takes 150 kg on the move and 300 kg when parked — bars and rack included. That covers a rooftop tent: keep tent and bars inside the dynamic rating when driving, and tent, bedding and people inside the static rating at camp.

Fitting a canopy to the Navara

The Navara canopy goes on with clamps to the factory tub rail, using the hardware supplied — no cutting, no drilling, and nothing permanent. If you sell the ute, the canopy comes off and the tub is as it was.

We fit canopies at 21 Moss Street, Slacks Creek, in Brisbane, or send them on pallet freight to any state for your own fitter. Seals, struts, glass and mounting hardware are kept on the shelf if you ever need a part.

Racks, tracks and locking

Full-length roof tracks are built into the Navara canopy, so bars, platforms, awnings, recovery boards, solar and light bars bolt on without drilling. Yakima track-mount gear fits directly — no adaptor plates — and other common bolt-in systems fit the same track.

Add the optional central locking kit and one press of the factory key locks the canopy with the cab. It plugs into the existing wiring.
